Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides an easy and straightforward techniques for home cooks. The chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She also has studied Italy's culinary tradition and culture, along with the natural geography. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced the most fun time of my life. I was unable to learn enough, didn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. In Italy she gained an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian food and culture. It will have a significant impact on the way that Burrell cooks. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve children's lives who are facing difficulties. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador where she advocates for awareness of children with diabetes. She has been a frequent to speak at conferences and tours throughout the United States as part of her mentorship task. Anne always felt fortunate that she could share the passion of cooking with others.
