Milena Govich

Milena Govich is an actor as well as a director and musician. She has helmed numerous episodes of TV that include Chicago Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). She was also the Co-EP/Producing Director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently working on two pilots currently in progress. Milena was one of the eight women selected by AFI's highly regarded Directing Workshop for Women. She also participated in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. The short film she made and the TV series proof-of-concept , Unspeakable, starring Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober, had its World Premiere at SXSW and was awarded Best Episodic at Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017 directed by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the United States. It won Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also awarded at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor, Milena has been featured in more than 100 shows of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). She also starred in the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006), which led to her role as the initial and only female detective on the Emmy-winning television series Law & Order (1990). She has been featured in a number of other television shows including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and for the role of Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena also appeared in a number of movies like Sordid Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011) as a co-star with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She was also in the film with Method Man. A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian of high school, and then enrolled in two majors in vocal performance and pre-med, with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma, with a valedictorian award at the end of the course. Soon after she took advantage of her classical ballet background to perform on Broadway in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes production of 'Cabaret' in Studio 54.
