Mary-Louise Parker

Mary-Louise Parker was born August 2nd, 1964. She is an American actress. After her Broadway debut in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss, in 1990, Parker was nominated for a Tony Award for the role of Rita. In this role, she was nominated in 2002 for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress In the Drama Series. She received both an Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance of Harper Pitt in the acclaimed HBO mini-series on television Angels in America in 2003.Parker went on to enjoy large successes as Nancy Botwin, the lead character of the TV series Weeds which ran from 2005 until 2012 and for which she received three nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in the field of Comedy Series between 2007 and 2009 and was awarded the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2006.Her subsequent film appearances include parts in The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008), Red (2010), R.I.P.D. (2013) and Red 2 (2013). Parker was back on Broadway in 2019, and she was in The Sound Inside. This production won her her second Tony Award for Best Actress. Since 2007, Parker has contributed articles to Esquire magazine, and also published her memoir, Dear Mr. You, in 2015. In 2017, she starred as Roma Guy on the ABC television miniseries called When We Rise. In 2018, she was a political advisor on Billions, a Showtime series.
