Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora (British singer-songwriter) is her name. Rita Sahatciu Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina (Kosovo) to Vera (Bajraktari), and Besnik Sahatciu. She is the grandchild of director Besim Sahatciu. Her family moved to the United Kingdom at age 1. She was raised in West London. She attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court. After that she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She started singing at a young age. In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. After auditioning for Eurovision The Country That requires You (BBC One) and being selected to represent Britain in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She was later unable to participate in the contest after a couple of episodes because she believed that the stage wasn't set. Ora's first music release was in 2007 when she was featured in the track of Craig David "Awkward" and then in 2008 with "Where is Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder. She also appears in music videos. Ora began singing in bars throughout London. A few days later, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z, an A&R informed Roc Nation about Ora. Ora was featured in Jay Z's 2009 video for "Young Forever", and "Over" from Drake. Ora attracted the attention of Jay-Z and he was able to sign her to Roc Nation, in which she was featured in an advertisement for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. She began singing at the same pub where her father, Besnik, was a pub owner. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her character. She also credits her father, Besnik who was a bar owner. The actress is close to Kate Moss, and Ed Sheeran.
