Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara is a famous American performer and actress who are both of Irish origin. The fiery, passionate role she played in several American films was what attracted attention to the green-eyed beauty. Her beauty and elegance were well-loved. She was also referred to as the 'Queen of Technicolor and was a household name in Hollywood. Her roles onscreen were a reflection of her strong, brave spirit. She fought for recognition and survival within the male-dominated world. She always called herself the "tough Irish lass" who will never sacrifice her honor and status to land the roles she wanted through merit. She was an ardent advocate for women in film and television, and gained a large following as a result. Her autobiography, 'Tis Herself", which was released in 2004, provided an honest and honest story of her entire experience, including her struggles while climbing the ladder of success. She was an active woman who did not hesitate to performing her own stunts. She appeared as an actress in more than 60 films over the years and enjoyed a lot of fame internationally. She was remarried in 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a former air force pilot brigadier and chief, who were the pioneers of transatlantic aviation. After a few years of their marriage, she decided to end her retirement. Blair, however, died in a tragic crash on a plane in 1978. O'Hara's bliss was not long-lasting. In the same year she was also diagnosed as being a victim of uterine cancer, and was required undergo surgery immediately. She was successful in recovering. Over the next few years, her health began to decline and she experienced six heart attacks, short-term memory loss and diabetes mellitus type 2. On 24 October 2015, O'Hara died peacefully in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at the age of 95.
